Atlantic Hardchrome is a Nova Scotia based full service company. We provide equipment repair manufacturing machining CNC machining grinding & plating company providing services in the Industrial Aerospace Mobile Equipment Marine Defense Construction Forestry Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. We are looking for full time Plating Technician for 5 Notting Court Dartmouth NS B3B 1N2. There are 2 positions available. Main duties are as follows but not limited to Read and interpret work orders Operate metal cleaning equipment such as deburrers and shotblasters to remove excess welds rust scale and other material from surfaces of metal parts castings and other metal products Polish metal products to mirror finish Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action Immerse metal products in cleaning and plating solutions Assist metalworking machine operators or other metal workers Calculate the surface to be plated determine number of loads and calculate the amperage per square foot inch. Set the rectifier controller to the appropriate specified amps in line with the job instruction sheet Transport raw materials and finished metal products manually or using hoists or other devices Sort metal sheets and parts scrap metal and other materials Clean work areas and equipment Load and unload vehicles using hand truck or dolly May cut grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools. Ensure use of personal protective equipment as per station requirements is always worn. Estimated hours of work are 8 hours day 5 days a week. Pay is 20 hour.
