The PeopleReady located at Suffolk Virginia 23434 is currently hiring a General Labor Job Description The job duties of a General Labor vary sometimes even day-to-day at the same site. They may include cleaning and preparing a jobsite loading and delivering materials using different tools and machines such as blowtorches driving forklifts reading levels operating lifts and manning power drills grinders saws pressure washers and water spraying equipment manually move freight stock or other materials perform other general labor as well as other duties as assigned by the manager. Laborers set up and take down ladders scaffolding and other temporary structures. They help carpenters masons and other specialized contractors. Labors and helpers work in all fields of construction commercial jobs and other businesses and the demand for these workers should mirror the level of overall activity. We would love to add more General Labor like you. Manually move freight stock or other materials perform other general labor as well as other duties as assigned by the manager. Pay Rate for this Job is 11 Hour Part Time- 8 AM - 2 PM Responsibilities Include Unloading trucks full of tires and move material within the warehouse. Review shipments and advise management of shortages or damages shipments. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Record numbers of units handled or moved using daily production sheets work tickets or handheld scanner. Sort cargo before loading and unloading. Maintaining warehouse area in a neat and organized manner. Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
