Production Supervisor

Job descriptionGENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting management with operational activities within the production facility during their designated shift and contributes to the site s overall strategic direction. The incumbent provides leadership to the Production staff to help ensure production objectives and performance standards are met. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Ensure proper planning staffing and direction of the operational functions of the production process Review all operations performance daily to ensure optimal production is reached Supervise team of production staff approving timesheets schedule changes transfers in out of the department and time off requests Ensure proficient training staff development and effective employee relations and recognition is achieved for all operational personnel Maintain pertinent operational statistics through performance management software financial management information and results reporting Work to ensure team meets targets on overall business level and ensures desired Service Level Agreements are met with optimum quality and service Develop and handle changes in staff schedules and staffing needs for the room Generate review and manage process and facility SOP s Support and drive the QA systems which ensure the Processing facility meets or exceeds USDA food processing standards Run production lines and assist with the workload as needed to ensure all orders schedule to be completed in the room are finished before the end of shift Perform other duties and support other activities as assigned by the Management within scope and abilityJOB REQUIRMENTS High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience Bachelor s degree a plus 3 years of experience in a similar role within beef grinding and further processing industry Experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with tight deadlines to be met on a daily basis Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong conflict management skills Ability to mentor train and lead Processing staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends based on business needs Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Ability to work under comply with and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International USA
