Operations Manager 2nd Shift

Job descriptionGENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Operations Manager directs and is responsible for all operational activities within the production facility during the 2nd shift and contributes to the sites overall strategic direction. The incumbent provides leadership of Supervisors Line Leads and when applicable Maintenance staff ensuring production objectives and performance standards are met. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Ensures proper planning staffing and direction of the operational functions of the production process Reviews all operations performance daily to ensure optimal production is reached Manages supervision team and large production staff Ensures proficient training staff development and effective employee relation recognition is achieved for all operational personnel Maintains and develops pertinent operational statistics financial management information and results reporting Supports Business Development Initiatives Data Analysis highlighting and enhancing Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) - Productivity Management Meets targets on overall business level & ensuring desired Service Level Agreements are met with optimum quality & service To review various reports and statistical data generated for the program and work out suitable action plans to effect continuous improvement To authorize and coordinate changes in staffing schedules through the Operations Support team To participate in client conference calls client meetings etc. regarding all operational aspects of the designated client program To generate review and manage process and facility SOP s Lead the development and establishment of a sound robust and structured Quality Assurance system which ensures this new processing facility meets and exceeds USDA food processing standards Contribute to the development and implementation of a structured employee training program Perform other duties and support other activities as assigned by the Management within scope and ability JOB REQUIRMENTS High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience Bachelor s degree a plus 5 years of experience in a similar role within beef grinding and further processing industry Experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with tight deadlines to be met on a daily basis Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong conflict management skills Ability to mentor train and lead Processing staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends based on business needs Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Ability to work under comply with and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International USA
