The PeopleReady located at Rochester Minnesota 55906 is currently hiring a Journeyman Plumber Job Description PeopleReady is now hiring for Journeyman Plumber A Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing repairing and maintain pipes fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential commercial and industrial buildings. A plumbers job also includes but is not limited to cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings using handtools and power tools cutting and threading pipe digging using pipe cutters cutting torch and pipe-threading machine bending pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machines or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand assembling and installing valves pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals such as iron steel brass and lead and nonmetals such as glass vitrified clay and plastic using handtools and power tools joining pipes by use of screws bolts fittings solder plastic solvent and caulks joints filling pipe system with water or air and reading pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks commodes bathtubs water heaters hot water tanks garbage disposal units dishwashers and water softeners repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets mending burst pipes and opening clogged drains welding holding fixtures to steel structural members. A plumber will do continual walking standing climbing stooping bending kneeling reaching and heavy lifting adjusting heavy objects and carrying heavy objects. A plumber must have the physical capability to bend and lift on a constant and repetitive basis and lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally more including but not limited to pulling pushing and carrying. AJourneyman Plumber works in tiring and uncomfortable positions around gas lines around fumes and toxic chemicals outside and inside. Note - Pay Rate for this Job is 30 Hour. Shift Timing - 1st Shift (Day). Responsibilities Include In addition a plumber must have the following abilities Ability to see details at close range Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp manipulate or assemble very small object Ability to bend stretch twist or reach Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position Ability to quickly move your hand your hand together with your arm or two hands to grasp manipulate or assemble objects Ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting standing or lying down Qualifications Minimum one year of experience for apprentice positions and at least three for journeyman positions In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems Understanding of the current regulations within the field Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level Able to work both independently and as part of a team Certification required Tools of the trade and ability to bring them to jobsites References to verify your professional skills and references Strong work ethic and positive attitude Able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
