Die Setter - Die Repair Grind Die Sections Punches Bushings Die Set Ups - Cleveland OH - JOB 21-00022Pay Range 15.50 - 22.00 HR - Permanent Position with Benefits. Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply. A manufacturer of automotive products is seeking to hire a Die Setter to be responsible for setting Progressive Dies and Feeds. The set ups must result in maximum efficiency quality and safety considerations. This is a full-time day shift position.REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma. Must have prior experience working with 400-ton presses Three years previous progressive die setting experience. A minimal of 1-year experience using measuring equipment including calipers (digital and mechanical) dial gauges height gauges micrometers (digital and mechanical) optical comparators. Understands Quality Management Assurance policy and maintains product quality Ability to conduct first piece set-up inspection Tow motor license required or previous OSHA-approved certification required. Reading writing math communication skills to interpret written work instructions and process routine company forms. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTSAbility to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to use comparator Rockwell hardness tester and CMM to measure part dimensions. DUTIESMixes oils and lubricants for press operations. Loads and unloads dies and coils onto and off of presses. Calculates gross tare and net weights of finished pieces. Assists with dumping and weighing scrap logging weight in scrap logbook. Runs production at maximum speed with minimum maintenance. Use measuring equipment including calipers dial gauges height gauges micrometer. Conducts parts inspection using measuring gauges including inside outside depth micrometers calipers gage blocks height gauges indicators attribute gages. Reports nonconforming product to QA and or supervisor for corrective action. Properly sets stop blocks feed pilot timing scrap chutes wintress knockouts conveyors counter balance straightener payoff reel servo guides and pressure. Troubleshoots production problems evaluates strips and understands principles of progressive dies. Responsible for following all OSHA Ohio EPA company and department safety rules and safety procedures. Performs minor die repair grind die sections punches bushings adjusts and grinds or resets rails replaces pins and bushings regrinds and resets cut-offs. Machine repair troubleshoots and repairs production machines in the dept tear down and replace parts. Ability to flat grind knowledge of proper shims and ability to grind and reset rails PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSOccasionally required to stand sit walk crouch kneel balance climb stairs uses hands and arms to reach occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision depth perception peripheral vision and the ability to adjust and focus. Works indoors but is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Noise level is moderate to high. Hearing and eye protection required at all times for this position.
