Whether you are looking for work or you are seeking workers for your business PeopleReady is the North American leader in the industrial and on-demand staffing space.The PeopleReady Located Santa Fe Springs CA 90670 USA is currently hiring Batch Weigher.Job DescriptionWeighs quantities of raw materials for use in manufacturing of high quality printing ink by performing any or all of these duties as directed.RELATIONSHIPS Responsible to report to the Supervisor for performance of assigned functions.Pay Rate for this Job is 16 Hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following and the performance of other assignments or duties as determined by the Company.Weighs batches as planned and assigned by the Supervisor using personal protective equipment (gloves apron glasses dust mask etc.) if required. Follows the directions on the batch ticket taking batch tickets back to the lab for inspection when there appears to be an error. Selects the proper mixing tub for the batch (size and previous color) and makes sure it is clean. Checks the raw material inventories to be sure that all ingredients for the batch are available before beginning to weigh the batch. Notifies Supervisor of any unusual differences in raw material. If appropriate checks the manufacture date and checks for polymerization. Uses the proper scale for weighing the raw materials. Shows all figures on the batch tickets including lot numbers of all raw materials and checks items off as they are weighed so that steps can be retraced if necessary. When batch has been weighed signs batch ticket marks the tub with the full formula number and moves finished batch to proper area (mill or mixing room). OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS Operates heater jacket if needed for photo initiator batches. Keeps all tools and equipment in working order notifying the Supervisor of any defective equipment. Keeps work area tools and equipment clean. Is responsible for adherence to the INX Employee Handbook and INX s Standards of Conduct. Must be committed to a high standard of Environment Health & Safety practices and be willing and able to comply with all EHS laws and all of the employer s EHS policies and rules and must be willing to report EHS violations and potential EHS violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel. This may include participation in company EHS programs such as safety committees & required environmental regulatory plans. It is the responsibility of all INX International employees to adhere to the guidelines established in the INX Quality Management System. These guidelines are based on the ISO Standard and can be found in the Level I INX Quality Manual and the Level II INX Quality Procedure Manual located on the Prism eSolutions website. Work area and environment will be maintained according to the 5S guidelines and the 5S Best Practices at the respective facilities. Must be committed to participation in TPM activities of the facility at the team level or above with a clear understanding of all KPI targets for their team or department. Must be committed to supporting the TPM activities of all pillars as they are deployed and maintained in their work area or department. QUALIFICATIONS Could vary depending on product line and location.To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Preferred High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 1 to 3 months related experience and or training of combination of equivalent education and experience previous manufacturing experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to comprehend simple verbal written instructions and memos write simple correspondence present information in one-on-one and small group situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Add subtract multiply and divide using fractions and decimals compute rate ratio percents and draw interpret graphs. REASONING ABILITY Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written oral or diagram instructions deal with problems involving several variables in standard situations.CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS Forklift.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES Mechanical skills helpful. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer s sole discretion. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing walking and reaching 2 3 of the time or more. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception. Sometimes needs to talk or hear uses hands to handle or feel. May need to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself herself or others. WORK ENVIRONMENT Working near moving mechanical parts. Sound level is typically loud. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Occasional work in high places. Must be flexible with their work schedule good with communication and math skills. Start time is 10 00am-6 30pm to start but if we need to switch it could be 7 00am - 3 30pm.
