The People Ready Branch Tampa FL USA is currently hiring a Production Assistant Entry Level MachinistJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Production Assistant Entry Level Machinist (ELM) a) oversees the CNC and Water Jet machines that shape parts from metal.b) is responsible for interpreting drawings manuals and other work instructions along with specifications necessary to set-up machines such as the water jet lathes mills grinders etc. to very close tolerances and to operate these machines for precision workc) studies sample parts to determine dimensions of finished work pieces and CNC equipment for set-up requirementsd) sets the machines and loads them with correct cutting toolse) is expected to inspect work pieces throughout the production runf) measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machiningg) cleans and performs basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting functions on machines tooling and partsNote Pay Rate for this Job is 18 Hour - 20 Hour Responsibilities In conjunction with the Director of Operations and Engineering plans organizes and controls production ensuring that goods are produced efficiently on time within budget and to quality standards Opens shop by 6 45 a.m. each morning. Conducts weekly inventory of machined parts and raw material. Works in conjunction with Assembly to conduct weekly hardware assembly. Works in conjunction with Welding to assure proper stock of backing blocks and welding materials. Processes range hoods through the water jet and welding. Performs metal finishing on range hoods. Supervises and is actively involved in preventive maintenance performed on all machinery. Ensures production sheets are maintained and turned in daily Maintains the forklift for optimum use by completing the daily use log and keeping propane tanks stocked and safely stored Oversees preventive maintenance on all machines Organizes and cleans respective work areas Operates all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully Works from prints or drawings to produce a variety of items Delivers parts to drawing specifications on a timely basis Sets up machines for less skilled production machine operators Produces precision items beyond the capabilities of production machine operators Supports Lean manufacturing.
