The PeopleReady Branch 0992 located at Tempe Arizona is currently hiring a < Payroll Manager> Manage and oversee the payroll function including quarterly and annual tax returns W-2 s amendments prior years discrepancies and audits.Responsibilities. Determine appropriate taxation of all employee earnings fringe benefits and deductions. Develop and implement workflow and tasks necessary to accomplish accurate and timely payment to employees. Maintain Payroll department structure of responsibilities and guidelines by reviewing updating and implementing policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with HR Finance and all internal customers in support of organizational goals and requirements. Review and interpret reports prepared by staff personnel in the payroll department. Responsible for system administration ADP payroll and various timekeeping systems. Ensure accurate operation of all Payroll systems as the principal contact for the client and our existing outside vendors. Lead system upgrades and conversions as needed. Recommend establish and implement internal controls to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Continually look for opportunities to improve processes and systems. Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations planning monitoring and appraising job results coaching and counseling employees initiating coordinating and enforcing systems policies and procedures. Maintain staff by recruiting selecting orienting and training employees maintaining a safe and secure work environment developing personal growth opportunities. Develops best practices new and review of existing policies and procedures. Identifies control and or process inefficiencies and propose enhancements to the current process striving for continuous improvement. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing and contributing to professional publications establishing personal networks participating in professional societies. Create and maintain company-wide payroll processes to effectively track payroll activities such as review of leave of absence payments retroactive payments commissions bonuses new hires termination payments expense reports and any other payroll additions constantly identifying best practices and driving continuous improvement Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and scalable initiatives Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws Ensure compliance with internal controls and initiatives Ensures customer service needs are consistently and effectively met Ensures team receives initial and on-going training to keep abreast of any changes to Payroll or related programs policies processes or procedures as well as to enhance the team s customer service skills. Establishes and communicates objectives provides on-going feedback and coaching and conducts performance reviews. Identifies performance problems and provides input to manager on performance assessments Qualifications Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 7 years of progressively more responsible payroll administration work. Managed at least payroll staff At least 3 years of management supervisor responsibilities CPP required Strong data management skills High level proficiency with MS Excel or MS Access Strong background (training and experience) in employment tax law wage and hour standards tax return preparation and tax dispute negotiations. Experience working with US and Canada payroll required additional global experience a plus ADP Payroll experience required (Candidate should be able to demonstrate which ADP platforms experience is with) Experience working through mergers & acquisitions Experience with Construction industry a plus Prior experience acting in a lead capacity to include providing guidance to others in a work group and providing training staff.
