Position Mechanical Insulator (Insulation Mechanic)Terms of employment Full-time PermanentWage 28.00 33.00 hour (Depending on Experience)Hours 30 - 40 hours weekBenefits 10% Vacation Pay Company Pension Dental Care Disability Insurance Extended Health Care Life Insurance Vision Care Apprenticeships available for all non Journey People. Job Duties Apply remove and repair insulation on industrial equipment pipes ductwork or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers tanks and vessels to help control noise and maintain temperatures Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements Select appropriate insulations based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required Install vapour barriers and or sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage Cover seal or apply waterproofing cement over insulating materials to finish surfaces Remove asbestos or urea-formaldehyde insulation from building when required Job requirements Completion of Secondary School is required and 2 3 years of experience in the trade are required.
