We pre-qualify applicants in order to provide the best quality candidates to the numerous Hospitality Companies who work with us nationwide.Job SummaryUnited Hospitality Management is looking for a career-minded customer-focused leader for a Chief Engineer opening at the Springhill Suites East LansingDescription Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides reports to subordinated on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans Inspects all aspects of new construction repair work projects equipment work orders daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the job are completed efficiently specifications are within regulatory requirements and inspection reports and payment request are correct Trouble Shoots and repairs malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems such as HVAs plumbing and other equipment throughout the hotel Services Hotels Pools including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters completing maintenance request forms and record logs. Coordinated compliance with all service contracts Hires Trains and provides career development for all maintenance personnel Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility Keeps employees informed as to company department plans and progress Coordinates activities of assigned units with those of other company units. Seeks mutual agreement on problems involving coordination Submits budgets for assigned activities in accordance with the budget procedure. Approves budget expenses up to authorized dollar amounts. Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets tables chairs doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms if needed Maintain front entrance area parking area and or garage and street entrance ina clean and presentable manner Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility grounds pool and exercise sport facilities Ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools supplies equipment furniture televisions etc. Using established hotel procedures Checks and maintains supplies and inventory Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incident unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or manager on duty Must be able to work all shifts Perform other duties that are assigned. Requirements Must have 3-5 years maintenance experience with 2 years direct maintenance supervisory experience Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each immediately Knowledge required to review and interpret highly technical information write technical materials and or speak persuasively to implement desired actions and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Know laws codes policies and or regulations and standard business practices. Carrying lifting pulling or pushing items weighing up to 100 pounds Working knowledge of basic plumbing electrical skills preventive maintenance procedures and reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools.
