MID CENTURY PETER HVIDT & OLGA MOLGAARD NIELSEN TEAK DINING ROOM SET 7 500 OR BEST OFFER My mother now 93 and my late father bought this dining room set in 1961 from a small furniture store in Pomona. The owners traveled extensively in Scandinavia and returned home to open their business.A beautiful and practical gate leg drop-leaf dining table designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen made in Denmark by France and Daverkosen and sold through high-end retailer John Stuart. This table from 1961 is made of solid teak having a deep rich reddish color and a subtle grain pattern. When open it has a true oval shape easily sitting six to eight and closes to a space-saving 18 a table for two The legs are like sculptures in themselves - dramatic and stunning. Brass accents complete the look. Six matching Mid Century Scandinavian solid teak chairs purchased at the same time from the same store owner come with the table.
