I am Ashley Warner the President of the Mount Dora FFA chapter. This is my fourth year in FFA at Mount Dora High School and I am currently in the 12th grade. I have raised pigs goats chickens and this being my first steer he is extra special.Unfortunately I will not be able to show and sell my steer at the Lake County Fair this year due to the fair being canceled because of the COVID-19 Virus. As part of my responsibility for raising and caring for my steer I have researched proper techniques to make sure I am raising my steer to my greatest ability and knowledge. I have worked multitudes of hours feeding watering and cleaning his pen. Not to mention he crushed my foot twice causing me to be in recovery for weeks two separate times. In addition I have practiced walking and grooming my steer to prepare us both for sale.I am reaching out to the community to ask for support during this challenging time for all of us who have been putting so much time and dedication into their animals. We work so diligently in the time leading up to selling our animals. With the amount of money that I will get from my steer will go towards my college education.My steer Moose is a Charolais Cross. I weighed him today and he is 1083 pounds.I am searching for a buyer for Moose in hopes to at least break even. I have worked so hard trying to produce a fine Market Steer.
