Shift Monday FridayStatus Full Time (37.5 Hours)Reporting Relationships Receives direct day to day supervision from the Director of Community Services Program Medical Director and Coordinator who oversee the program(s) and multidisciplinary team(s). Receives supervision and support from the Director of Home and Habilitation Services of Pathways Inc.Essential Responsibilities or Functions of the Position The duties involve responsibility for the provision of professional nursing services to the clients of the Mental Health Programs. The duties are performed in accordance with established professional nursing practices and involves following special orders from physicians and psychiatric nurse practitioners in the treatment of mental health clients. Assignments concerning client care are usually given directly by the Physician assigned to the mental health and the incumbent is expected to perform routine duties without detailed instruction in collaboration with other mental health clinicians. The duties are performed in conjunction with the work of other mental health clinicians. Performs requirements as requested.1. Gives skilled nursing care and prescribed treatments to clients enrolled at the Steuben County Mental Health Center.2. Counsels and guides individuals and families toward self-help in recognition and solution of physical emotional and environmental health problems 3. Coordinates plans for services with social workers nutritionists physical therapists addiction counselors physicians and other professional workers concerned with individual and family health care as needed 4. Participates in utilization review committee and other meetings as needed 5. Compiles and uses records and medical reports for evaluation and treatment planning of assigned cases and6. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.7. Assist other clinicians with health related issues and educational information as necessary 8. Collaboration with other community service providers as necessary and9. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.Knowledge Skills and Abilities 1. Thorough knowledge of current nursing practices principles and techniques 2. Working knowledge of the administrative organization of community and regional psychiatric facilities for the Mental Health Program 3. Skill in the application of current nursing procedures and techniques of patient care 4. Ability to plan and coordinate nursing care for individuals and families suffering the effects of mental illness for the Mental Health Program 5. Ability to follow technical oral and written instructions 6. Ability to communicate effectively 7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others 8. Ability to accept and utilize guidance 9. Ability to perform duties in accordance with the ANA Code for Professional Nurses 10. Good powers of observation 11. Alertness 12. Firmness 13. Patience 14.
