I tried to cause change in that person for many years through reasoning with them. I posed many different reasons for changing that never worked. Then one day it dawned on me that I could never change that person. At that very instant it felt like a large weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I realized a while later that the person I had tried to change truly changed at basically the same instant but not by my efforts. I instantly knew that God changed their heart according to His will and plan for their life. I also realized at that same instant that I had wasted all those years of effort trying to impose my will and desires on that person. It became so clear to me how God can and does influence and change people when it is His will to do so all of my doubts disappeared about this particular person. My spiritual eyes were opened a little further as well I can see such things a little clearer now. Another thing I feel the need to do some times as in Mark 9 24 above I ask God to help me with any remnants of doubt or unbelief in my life. I truly do not want to encounter any of those in my life toward God or His will. I have learned to continuously pray and ask for God s will to be done in all situations I have found that to be a considerably better choice than trying to impose my will for sure. I must admit though I still experience doubt mistrust concerning other people in certain situations sometimes. I can usually tell when a person can be trusted or not I have learned to trust my feelings in that area. I believe that to be a kind of survival instinct God has built into us and I thank Him for it that particular instinct has protected me more than once. There are so many people out there in the world that will do their best to take advantage of you especially on the internet beware.
