For sale Our wonderful Chevrolet G20 1986 which has been our home for the last nine months (April 2019 to January 2020). We are a couple from Switzerland - a 28 year old doctor and a 24 year old woodworker. Coming to the US and travelling from climbing destination to climbing destination was our big dream. We travelled roughly 13 000 miles starting from New Mexico up to Canada and then along the West coast down to Texas again. During this time our car never failed except for minor issues because of its age. We had to replaced the battery the alternator and the starter which are all brand new now.We bought the car with 98 000 miles and as noted above we drove 13 000 for a total of 111 000. However the odometer only has 5 digits so it currently reads 11 000. When we first bought it we thought there might be some chance that it had more miles on it than advertised but a mechanic confirmed the 98k number and we invite you to have it checked by a mechanic as well.The inside of the car was completely rebuilt with more than 600 hours of work put in by the both of us (one of us being a woodworker by trade with years of experience). The inside was completely hollowed out and we started from scratch insulating the entire van including all the walls ceiling and the floor.There is a queen sized bed in the back and a kitchen with a sink running water with a 10 gallon reservoir and a two burner stove with a four gallon propane tank below the van. There is plenty of storage below the bed and above the driver and passenger seats. There is also a big wardrobe for clothes on the side of the bed. The high top of the van lets people up to 6 feet tall stand up straight comfortably in the kitchen living room. Both front seats swivel and therefore can be transformed into a dining area with a table in between.We also installed a brand new solar system including two 100w Renogy eclipse solar panels a 200ah battery a 2000w pure wave inverter to 110v (standard American household plug you can run a blender or any other electrical device up to 2000w with it). The whole solar system can be controlled by an app connected via bluetooth. Furthermore there is a COSTWAY Car Freezer containing up to 14 gallons with adjustable temperature and eight ceiling lights controlled by four separate light circuits. There is an AC plug for charging phones or any USB charged devices.The van is completely equipped with the following -a mattress as well two pillows and a big blanket and spare sheets -a complete kitchen set for two persons (pots pans plates cutlery and much more) -a spare car battery jumper cables a car jack an electrical drill -a wood saw basic tools -a spare tire -since we came for bouldering we would also additionally sell our two crash pads two large Organic pads 5 inches thick and one year old including the extra carrying system. New price was 825 dollars we would sell them for 500.After having spent so many months in the van there are a few cons that are worth mentioning -Driving uphill is somewhat slower -The van gets about 11-12mpg -Because we installed new weather strips you have to slam the doors to shut them -There s no AC but there is a rooftop fanWe now sadly have to say goodbye to our car because we have to return home to our daily lives in Switzerland. Our journey ends in Texas (Hueco Tanks near El Paso). If we reach an agreement to sell we would also deliver the car out of state (as far north as Colorado). We are willing to sell the van starting from now. We are willing to negotiate our price.
