I had just turned 18 and was enjoying doing things legally. For instance I was happy that I could no longer be charged for underage driving. But then a pain in my rear gums drove me crazy. I was on a lookout for a dentist when my friend google.com suggested to me to visit whitezone dental clinic.I found the staffs to be quite welcoming. I was inspected by Dr. Biswajit Panda who appeared to be a gentleman in every sense. He informed me that the pain was due to one of the wisdom teeth growing skewed and getting trapped within the jawbone. He said that surgery was the only possible way and if I didn t do it then it would only grow worse. After a lot of whimpering I decided to go in for the surgery. Dr. Panda advised me to get all of the wisdom teeth removed at one go after taking a few X-rays of my mouth. He had valid reasons one time pain the convenience of not visiting the clinic over and over again less cost of extraction and not going through the post procedure recovery phase multiple times. He also offered me a very attractive package. Despite being skeptical I agreed to have all of them removed at one go because the pain was unbearable. Time stood still on the day of the procedure. I was panicking with fear but Dr. Panda assured that everything will be fine. His calm conduct helped me tranquil myself. I got a little paranoid right before the administration of local anesthesia but again Dr. Panda insured that everything will be fine. The anesthesia took around 20 minutes to kick in and after the numbing agents started doing their chore I lost the feeling in my mouth. The actual procedure itself wasn t too bad. It went fairly quick. I did not feel any pain owing to the perfect amount of anesthesia administered. Every now and then I could taste the metal and blood in my mouth but the dental assistant had this sucking device which prevented my mouth from becoming a pool of blood and saliva. When it was over the assistant walked me out where my dad greeted me with a proud smile as if I brought home an Olympic gold (Dads are great indubitably ). I was prescribed three medicines and a host of instructions meant to be followed during the recovery phase. For example I was strictly prohibited from using straws for the next two weeks. Dr. Panda even gave me his personal contact number since I was operated on the last working day of the week. I was also told to eat ice-cream frequently during the recovery phase. I was happy with the ice cream part. There was minor bleeding on the first day which completely stopped by Day 2. The swelling too subsided within a week. I had to sleep upright for a couple of days though in order to not swallow the saliva and little blood that kept trickling. I paid Dr.Panda a visit after a fortnight. He was happy to see me and shared some tips on dental hygiene. So that was my first and only experience with wisdom teeth extraction. If you have an extraction coming up don t panic.
