Why is Eve called mother of all living Please read the following. (Below is Jesus genealogy through His mother Mary notice there are no begats). Luke 3 23-38 Luke 3 23 does not say that Heli begat Joseph. It says that Jesus... being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph the son of Heli which means While it was assumed (from every outward appearance) that Jesus was the fleshly son of Joseph. Jesus did not have an earthly fleshly father he was in fact the descendant of Heli through Mary (due to being born of a virgin Isaiah 7 14 Matthew 1 20 23-25 and Luke 1 30-35). Thus Heli is the father of Mary Jesus mother. This is Jesus Christ s lineage through His virgin mother Mary. Nathan and David are in Christ s lineage. Thus the genealogy of Christ in Luke 3 23-38 goes all the way back to Adam through Christ s virgin mother Mary not Joseph His step father. The genealogy of Christ goes all the way back to Adam through Seth. Let me ask you a question now. Who was Seth s mother Eve was the mother of Seth. Who is in the genealogy of Seth Jesus Christ [Jesus Christ is why Eve is called the mother of all living]. I don t believe she was the first woman on earth according to where her forming occurs in scripture. She was formed from Adam who was not formed yet after the 6th day created peoples [Genesis 1 26-31] and the 7th day of rest please read the following verses Genesis 2 5 (No man to till the ground yet Eve was formed from Adam Hmm ) 7 and 22. Christ s lineage goes all the way back to Adam Eve umbilical cord to umbilical cord Christ is one of her offspring [same genealogy] by Adam. Eve had a purpose in God s plan to bring forth a savior for all of mankind. (Joseph s genealogy follows notice the begats in this one. Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus he was step father only). Matthew 1 1-20 Joseph was clearly the son of Jacob (Matthew 1 16 Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary). This is Joseph s genealogy not Christ s or Mary s. Solomon and David are in his lineage. Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus [Again Matthew 1 18-20 23-25]. God through the holy spirit conceived Jesus. Joseph was married to Christ s mother after Christ was conceived he was Christ s step father only. How can Jesus have any of Joseph s bloodline in Him if Joseph was just a step-father to Jesus Joseph s lineage is only documented back to Abraham. Christ s lineage is documented all the way back to Adam and Eve. The name Joseph does show up in both genealogies but Joseph (Mary s husband) didn t have 2 earthly fathers did he I don t think so. Did Mary (Mother of Jesus) have any Levite blood in her I believe Luke 1 5 and 36 tell us that she did have the blood of levites in her she was kin to Elisabeth who was of the daughters of Aaron. Mary passed her blood to Jesus. Luke 1 5 THERE was in the days of Herod the king of Judaea a certain priest named Zacharias of the course of Abia and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron and her name was Elisabeth.Luke 1 36 And behold thy cousin Elisabeth she hath also conceived a son in her old age and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. Mark 12 27 He is not the God of the dead but the God of the living ye therefore do greatly err.(What does God of the living mean Is it related to mother of all living Remember Christ is in her genealogy). Something to think about. Acts 13 22 And when he had removed him he raised up unto them David to be their king to whom also he gave their testimony and said I have found David the son of Jesse a man after mine own heart which shall fulfil all my will.Acts 13 23 Of this man s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour Jesus [It was God s will that a Saviour (Jesus Christ) would come through King David. This is also known as the key of David (the true Christ s genealogy). Again Christ s lineage goes all the way back to Adam Eve umbilical cord to umbilical cord through King David]. I believe God s plan to save mankind was provided through this woman ( Eve through her offspring which includes Jesus Christ). The only Way to eternal life is by believing in Jesus Christ. That is why she Eve is called the mother of all living . If you are not a believer in and follower of Christ you are not alive spiritually you are spiritually dead. I do not believe she was the first woman on earth.
