Golden rule

Matthew 7 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you do ye even so to them for this is the law and the prophets. [Luke 6 31 37] Don t judge others God is our one and only judge All get judged by Him Matthew 7 1-2 Judge not that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge ye shall be judged and with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again. [Matthew 7 3-5 and Luke 6 41-42 these verses are important also. Judge not is a command No one is any better than anyone else. You get back exactly what you dish out]. Romans 2 1 Therefore thou art inexcusable O man whosoever thou art that judgest for wherein thou judgest another thou condemnest thyself for thou that judgest doest the same things. See Romans 14 10-13 also. 1 Corinthians 4 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time until the Lord come who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts and then shall every man have praise of God. [Be careful on judging others. God is the only judge and He is always fair. On the Lords Day all our darkest secrets will be revealed. Everyone will get what they deserve ] 2 Corinthians 5 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad. James 4 12 There is one lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy who art thou that judgest another [None of us humans are the one and only lawgiver or judge. See Matthew 10 28 also.] On the other hand It may seem a strange thing to say but we can be guilty of too much caring. We shouldn t spoil others with our kindness nor should they demand unnecessary service of us. Don t do for others what you can teach them to do for themselves. That is as much a golden rule as the better known one above. In other words give a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish he can feed himself and others for a lifetime Might be something to think about. Final thoughts Again please see Matthew 7 3-5 and Luke 6 41-42. To put it another way we look for those faults in others we most dislike in ourselves. But we need to clean up our own act first then we may be lovingly helpful of others don t be a hypocrite. Rebuking a sinner exposing corruption exercising spiritual discernment correcting someone in love or disciplining ones children is not judging wrongfully. If so Jesus and the Apostles who were our example to follow would have been in error. I believe that the Devil is lying to people to convince them that Biblical correction is judging. Therefore many believe that it is fine to go on sinning and not obey God by warning others. Wouldn t it be great if showing someone the error of their ways might save their soul Rebuking and judging are not the same thing. See Ezekiel 33 8 and James 5 20. Study the Bible completely. The golden rule is made very plain in many verses which I believe makes it a very important point for us all.
