Sam Houston TXPls. apply online at www.1prospect.com careers1 Prospect Technologies LLC is seeking qualified candidates for a Subject Matter Expert with Veterinarian experience to provide the training support necessary for veterinary services to meet mission requirements. The successful candidate will apply professional expertise of veterinary services and medical services to general instructional tasks and deliverables. These services require research of professional literature doctrine and training materials.Duties & Responsibilities Provide training support and subject matter expertise for standardized instruction and testing for health care providers Provide training support and subject matter expertise for standardized instruction and testing for veterinary training programs Provide training support and subject matter expertise in a variety of environments to include classroom laboratory clinical or field instruction outdoors on Fort Sam Houston Camp Bullis or Brooke Army Medical Center installations Perform critical surgical tasks as directed by the current government customer program and policy Provide technical knowledge and functional understanding of applications and operational environment of the subject matter processes procedures systems and operating requirements Provide subject matter expertise for the research and instruction of approved lesson plans skill stations and procedure labs Complete the government instructor course and certification as required and as time and or availability allows Complete the appropriate learning library courses as identified and required by the government customer prior to supporting training Serve as veterinary support contractor team lead for contractor veterinary technicians monitoring shift schedules observing and guiding team members in accordance with support service requirements Maintain current licensure from respective accrediting bodies Other duties as assigned Education Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Current state veterinary license Experience Qualifications Eight (8) years of experience within the veterinary field Read write and speak English fluently Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Be capable of learning and utilizing current and emerging military and commercial technology Ability to interface professionally with a wide variety of government customers Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite and incorporated programs to include Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook and Access and be able to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software required for services being provided Ability to perform routine clerical and organizational tasks organize files draft messages schedule appointments Ability to create spreadsheets manage databases and produce presentations reports and documents Ability to manage stock rooms and conduct research Ability to operate telephones fax machines video conferencing and other office equipment Be physically fit to the extent that employee can perform all tasks required of the students and to the same standard Physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds Ability to pass a Federal government background check Working Conditions Ability to stand for long periods of time while in the field or classroom. Travel within the local vicinity is required Services may be provided at government facilities to include a classroom office field hospital setting and in laboratory setting that is adequately lighted heated and ventilated Hours of operation are generally M-F between 0630-1700. Shift work may be required advanced notice will be provided Shifts may be eight (8) hours or longer starting as early as 6 00 AM Ability to work in the classroom and or outdoors and in inclement weather. Wear personal protective equipment as needed and during inclement weather During classroom instruction veterinary staff is required to wear black collared shirts pants with no rips and non-slip closed-toed safety shoes During lab instruction veterinary staff is required to wear tan scrubs tops & black scrub bottoms and non-slip closed-toed safety shoes designated for lab use only. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and headlamps are made available for required use. Employees may choose to provide their safety glasses and or headlamps. Any prescription safety glasses must be provided by the employee.
