Plant Procedures Engineer

The engineering organization is a technical unit of the Installed Base Products and Engineering organization. The Mechanical Systems group is responsible for system design and analysis plant performance evaluations thermal hydraulic analyses and plant operating procedure support.The position will support the Mechanical Systems Group within IBPE Engineering. Job responsibilities will include working with the PWROG Procedures Subcommittee to maintain plant operating procedures and guidelines (emergency and severe accident) consistent with the direction of the PWROG and B& W utilities. Position may be located in Lynchburg VA or worked remotely (depending on the experience level of the applicant).Primary responsibilities will include Performs a variety of the most complex engineering assignments in areas of design development analysis evaluation testing preparation of specifications execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems. Provides assistance and instruction on most assignments and solutions. Ensures compliance with government organization and customer engineering standards. Independently evaluates selects and applies a variety of technical techniques procedures and criteria using judgment in making more complex adaptations and modifications. Develops new or adapted products methods systems or models to provide added value solutions to customers. Researches and assesses best practices proposing methods and improvements. Works on special projects as directed. Education and Experience BS in Nuclear Engineering plus greater than 20 years of related experience Senior Reactor Operator and or Shift Technical Advisor Certification Preferred Assets Experience with the PWROG Procedures Subcommittee Experience with Babcock & Wilcox Plant Operating Procedures Emergency Operating Procedures and Severe Accident Management Guidelines Procedure Writer Certification Experience with Word and Excel Travel Domestic travel up to 25%Framatome is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer.
