Pay your taxes

Not just mine or yours our freely elected government. We are subject to our Government Study each verse carefully and completely.My comments are in the brackets. I used the KJV Bible. Romans 13 1 [Submit to government authorities because all authority comes from God and those in position of authority have been placed there by God. (Titus 3 1 I Peter 2 13-17) Obey the law of our governments and you will have freedom of religion etc. Be a good citizen and bring forth God s Word. The lawmakers are here to protect those who are doing good and can protect you to further God s Word]. Romans 13 2 [If you rebel against authority you are rebelling against what God has instituted and will be punished]. Romans 13 3 [The authorities are not there to bring fear to the people who are doing right but rather to those who are doing wrong. Do what is right and the authorities will honor you. (Proverbs 14 35 I Peter 3 13-14) No one will want to harm you if you do good]. Romans 13 4 [The authorities are God s servants for your good. If you are doing wrong they have the power to punish you. That is part of their job. Now I know many will say that many of the authorities are corrupt. Some may be but the majority of them are good people who want to do good for our country. You are always going to have some corruption in the government in the courts the military and police departments. However those who are corrupt will get theirs sooner or later. It mostly comes from those who take God out of the equation and always try to change God s ways of doing things]. Romans 13 5 [Do good and submit to the good authorities and you will avoid punishment and keep a clear conscience]. (Acts 24 16) Romans 13 6 [Work hard and pay your taxes for the same reason. The government workers need to be paid for their services. Some of them may be a little overpaid at times but that s the way it is. Christ was approached with this same question about taxation]. (Matthew 22 17-21 Mark 12 14 17 Luke 20 21-26) Romans 13 7 [Again pay what you owe to others and pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them. By doing so you will be giving honor to those who are in authority]. What happens in most cases when you resist those placed in authority over you Do you actually want to try and find out Regardless continue to study God s word completely.
