s www.globalchannelmanagement.com jobopeningsjobs(at)globalchannelmanagement.co mProduct Safety Specialist needs Solid understanding of chemical naming conventions Good understanding of safety role in consumer products companies experienceProduct Safety Specialist requires Bachelor s degree in toxicology chemistry biochemistry biology or related field required Master s preferred General understanding of California Proposition 65 and Safe Harbor Limits Familiarity with handling confidential data Overall computer literacy Knowledge of the following software programs Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook Word and SharePoint with advanced knowledge and expertise in Excel Works independently and monitors own work to ensure quality Detail oriented Self-motivated will ask questions and seek clarity when necessary Ability to work efficiently under with tight time constrains Strong problem solver and logical thinker Excellent reading comprehension written and oral communication skills Product Safety Specialist duties Conduct safety assessments for final products Organize and locate formulation data Utilize MS Excel to organize sort format raw material and formula data Use vendor questionnaires and existing safety assessments of raw materials to identify potential contaminant(s) and highest level of contaminant(s) in each the raw ingredient Cross reference information across various internal data bases and communicate discrepancies Identify gaps Identify any raw materials without a safety assessment Determine Safe Harbor Levels (SHL) or internally derived thresholds for impurities cross reference to California Proposition65 List Assist in deriving safe harbor thresholds Generate safety assessments for final formulations Calculate aggregate impurities in formulation Use internal database systems to enter 3rd party formulations into Ingenuity Run safety program to generate safety assessment for final formula Determine margin of safety using published or derived SHL.
