3rd shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Basic Functions Under general supervision perform high quality-level work in the installation construction modification repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses equipment and systems and perform related work as required.____________________________________ __________________________________Essential Functions The essential functions of the job include but not limited to the following Troubleshoot repair and maintain electrical distribution systems including electric motors electric controls and alarm and safety systems. Ensures electrical systems are operational performs testing on systems. Installs troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems including all facility lights and controls. Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to National Electrical Code Requirements and reports back to Plant Engineer. Assists as needed in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction. Maintains appropriate service and repair records. Researches and inventories equipment parts and supplies. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area. Assists and serves as backup to other maintenance employees in the department. Adhere to all safety rules required in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment. Performs other duties as assigned by Nitto Management. _____________________________________________ _________________________Non-Essential Functions Responds to off-shift call in to perform repairs to critical equipment. Wears all required protective equipment complies with all safety requirements. _____________________________________________ _________________________Working Conditions Physical demand factors includes heavy work with standing walking sitting climbing stooping kneeling couching reaching handling fingering feeling talking hearing and near acuity. Environmental conditions include exposure to inside and outside environment high and low ambient temperatures a noise intensity level from quiet to very loud proximity to moving mechanical parts possible exposure to electrical shocks working in high places and exposure to chemicals. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs up to shoulder height lifting up to 100 lbs in some instances. Exposed to all areas of the plant including grounds and roof. Exposed to mechanical moving parts electrical panels and chemicals. Works with equipment in hazardous locations. _____________________________________________ _____________________ Job Specifications (Minimum Qualifications Required) High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 7 years work experience in a commercial industrial or manufacturing facility operations setting. Willingness and ability to work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays. Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods materials tools equipment and systems. Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade computer logic and programming inspection of identification and knowledge of all electrical distribution systems (24 volts DC to 480 volts AC) methods and practices following in the maintenance of tools machinery and equipment. Must be able to read write and understand English
