Operations Technician Chemical Finishing

Position DescriptionSUMMARY OF POSITION Primarily responsible for performing chemical finishing operations and processes on metal parts according to established specifications. The chemical finishing operations and processes include the following functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform specific duties as assigned and strictly supervised by area supervision. Passivation - uses the process for both soak and brush passivation as specified on engineering drawings per appropriate work instructions with Citric or Nitric Acid. Electro-polish - uses the electro-polishing process equipment to process required finishes on component parts and final finishes per appropriate work instructions. Maintenance of proper fluid levels in all heated tanks. Assist in maintaining compliance to all state local and federal environmental regulations. Maintains adherence to ISO GMP FDA and safety guidelines procedures and policies. Properly completes paperwork and labor recording transactions on travelers timely and accurately. Maintains cleanliness of the work area. Verifies product quality to ensure part integrity and reports any defect or discrepancy to Area supervision Promotes a proactive cooperative attitude towards issues of environment health and safety. The Chemical Finisher must always be aware of environmental safety issues effectively maintaining surroundings by frequently checking all tank fluid levels checking for tank leaks containment leaks water leaks filter leaks etc. Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead. Hazardous Waste HandlerOTHER APPLICABLE DUTIES SPECIFIC TO SITE LOCATION Chrome Coating uses the chrome coating equipment to process required finishes on component parts and final finishes per appropriate work instructions. Oven bake parts per customer specification and maintain a log with times and temperatures specific to job. Hydro Hone Scotch Brite and polish to blend and brighten parts finish. Maintain media level in Hydro Hone as directed. Must be able to clean dry and replace composite mesh pads for tanks. Must be able to read magnehelic gauges and determine what must be done to adjust to low or high readings and notify Chemical Finishing Supervisor with problem readings.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School or equivalent preferred Three (3) year related work experience in a high volume manufacturing operation or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in a medical manufacturing environment is highly preferred.SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED Candidate must have the ability to be cross-functional and multi-tasked in the department. Quality focused self-starter must be willing to work as a team with other co-workers. Data entry skills and good basic math skills. Good time management skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy. Requires familiarity with part numbers lot numbers and inventory control practices. Detail oriented and able to lift and or move a minimum 50 lbs. 8 hrs. per day pushing or pulling 50 lbs. 8 hrs. per day. Work all required overtime.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Required frequently to stand walk and use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls Required occasionally to reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Corrected vision of 20 20 preferred. Able to work in a fast-paced quality oriented environment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined for the position.OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests. Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States through eVerify. Must adhere to the Company Code of Conduct and Core Values.
