CHILDCARE DIRECTOR

The Ashton Early Learning Center is seeking an experienced childcare director to manage the day to day operations of the childcare center.Ensure a safe happy stimulating environment for children. Provide direct assistance to staff in the classroom. Manage and coordinate curricula with staff that comply with Maryland regulations. Interview hire and train new staff members ensuring they all meet the centers philosophy. Communicate with parents regarding their children and uphold the rules and regulations. Meet regularly with immediate supervisors. Maintain an professional work environment. Successfully complete tours and help promote the childcare center. Conduct monthly staff meetings. Anticipates staffing neeeds preparing and posting weekly and daily schedules. Maintain confidentiality within the center at all times. Evaluates staff performances. Counsels staff on performance issues following center guidelines for disciplinary action procedures. Oversee the physical condition of the center and contents and seek owner for repairs for approval. Tracks all monetary transactions. Completes state owner yearly requirements for education training and ensures staff meets the requirements as well. Meets licensing specialist during visits. Performs other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or above OR Early Childhood Education OR a related area for Child Development ORTeaching certificate form MSDE as a teacher for Nursey- Grade 3ANDAt least 9 clock hours of approved training in continuing with staff parents and publicCPR First Aid certified90 Hour Certification3 clock hours in ADA ComplianceExperience 1 year of experience working in an approved childcare setting as a Director OR 2 years of experience working as an Assistant Director.Must meet all requirements listed by Maryland for this position.Please email resume to TAELCHR(at)GMAIL.COM16900 Holly Road Accokeek MD 20607 301-283-0333
