The ideal home for a catahoula is one with a fenced yard and opportunities for the dog to perform its natural work of tracking and herding. He will require exercise daily as well as firm guidance and training. Catahoulas are excellent family dogs who are affectionate loving protective and a dedicated companion. Puppies need proper training and socialization to grow into fabulous adult dogs. It takes dedication and effort and is a lifelong commitment.
