iso small house trained dog(s)

I m looking for a small (10-20 lbs) inside dog or 2. Must be good with small kids mine are 8 4 & 6mo. Dog would primarily be inside but we do have a rather large yard. I am a stay-at-home mom so dog wouldn t be left home all day. Male or female. Breed not an issue as long as it is a short-haired dog. I would prefer it be fixed but not required. Thanks in advance.
