Canine Safe Harbor is hosting an Adoption Event featuring our Special Dogs Due to past life experiences these dogs have developed a special need that has to be met. Bandit..adult-male-Chihuahua Miniture Pinscher mix. Bandit..has alot of spunk as well as heart & loves his walks & a comfy lap but can be nippy when approached quickly by a stranger. Summer..adult-female-Terrier mix. Summer is perfect for anyone looking for a calm & sweet companion. Summer appears to be uninterested & standoffish but on a recent home visit proved to be playful & had a ball meeting a new canine friend as well as 4 cats She also wasted no time getting to know the 2 strangers in the house Dusty..young-male-Chow Chow mix. Dusty loves everyone & would be a loyal Best Friend. He enjoys his daily walks & a ride in the car. Dusty lived in a home with too many dogs unsupervised making feeding time a nightmare Dusty is NOT food aggressive toward people but needs to be the only dog. Spirit..young-male-Chow Chow mix. Spirit has the heart and soul of a true survivor He like his best friend Dusty came from the same home. His will to survive in his past home is something to behold because this beautiful boy is blind due to inbreeding. On 2 recent trips to the park Spirit showed how well he adapts to new surroundings. He was like a child in the water for the 1st time and relaxed laying in the grass by his human friend. He plays so well alone he thinks his stuffed animals are alive Shhhhh..dont tell him Mariah..young-female-Black Labrador Retriever Boxer mix. This gorgeous girl came to us expecting 6 pups & as a mother she was unbelievable Mariah loves everyone & will always give you the chance to rub her belly. At present Mariah is enjoying her role as Surrogate Mother to a new arrival. On a home visit Mariah was perfect & the volunteer who took her calls her a Treasure. Mariah must go to a home that is cat free. Schuster..(no photo) young-male-Chihuahua mix. This handsome boy will melt your heart if you look into his eyes & those ears speak for themselves Schuster often shares his living space with another Canine Buddy and enjoys the company. He rides very well in a crate in the car loves his walks and romps in the outside pen. When you 1st meet Schuster he may seem a little shy but will respond quickly if you are patient. Buddy..(no photo) young-male-Chihuahua mix. Buddy has a favorite place to be & its the same with everyone your arms This cutie will come to you turn around & jump hoping you will catch him & hug him forever. Buddy loves his daily walks & enjoyed his home visit except for 1 thing..he is very camera shy. Buddy will run & hide at the sight of any camera Snicks..(no photo) young-female-Jack Russell mix. This darling little girl has lots of energy & gets along well with her new roommate Buddy. If you think you see something pure white from the corner of your eye Boinging straight up & down..you arent imagining things its just little Snicks doing the Jack Russell Jump When the commotion & noise of shelter life gets too much for Snicks she tends to keep at the back of her space until things quiet down some. Snicks seems to do best when her surroundings are more calm. This event will be held on Oct. 12th from 2-4 p.m. Our address is 8171 W KL Ave. 1 1 4 mi. west of the dog park on KL & 8th St. Follow the orange & white signs in the area.
