Lizzy was one of many unexpected bunnies when her mom was rescued off the streets in the East Bay. She is shy but getting more used to people every day. She s also curious about this big world but can be easily startled. We strongly suggest an adults only home with rabbit savvy people. Continue reading to learn more about this sweet bun that in the right home is going to blossom In our Rabbit Romper room Lizzy enjoyed playing chewing cardboard boxes paper towel tubes and a variety of plastic rabbit safe toys. She doesn t like to be picked-up or held but does enjoy being petted. She is young and on average rabbits living indoors live to be 10-12 years old. She does require a yearly vet exam and her nails trimmed every 4-6 months.All rabbits need time outside of their enclosure to burn off energy and to kick up their feet A long hallway or a room they haven t been in before will do the trick. Getting out of their enclosure for 2-3 hours a day is critical. Not only does it help with boredom but it helps with moving their food through their delicate system.She should eat unlimited amounts of Timothy Oat hay and or Orchard Grass hay 2-3 tablespoons of pellets each (no dried fruit or nut mixes) a small handful of veggies and an occasional piece of fruit as a treat.
