Cheyenne - Female GreyhoundMastiff Mix

Cheyenne was dumped in a rural area outside of Colorado City Texas--she was in the company of 5 other sighthounds. It s suspected that the hunters that owned the pack decided that they didn t want to feed their dogs during the summer and they just let them loose. Cheyenne is doing very well considering her ordeal and is in foster care in Lubbock. Out of curiosity we did her DNA--that s why we are sure she is part-Mastiff. It s easy to see the Mastiff influence in her face. She s very pretty and is a great variation on both breeds--very sturdy at over 80 pounds--but with the Greyhound s prototype and lean build--she s 2 3 s Greyhound--about 12% Mastiff and the other percentage is mixed but likely sight-hound predominant. Cheyenne has done very well under the leadership of her foster family and also their dog-Celeste-- another sight-hound in the group that was rescued from the same perilous situation. She is still shy but truly loves human attention and interaction as well as canine companionship. We don t believe she would do well as an only dog . We have determined that she is cat-tolerant--we recently tested her and she showed no interest in cats--we tested her in a home and at the cat-enclosure at PetSmart. Also on leash-walks--she ignores feral cats. As far as living in a home with children--we think she might do better with older children--ages 9-10 and older.... More Info
