Watch her video and you will see how much spunk she has. That was the day we met her at the shelter and we knew we had to save her. She & her sister had been thrown over a fence into a subdivision in rural Georgia and had been living on their own for months before they were taken to the shelter. At the shelter they were both terrified but it turns out once out of the shelter they are both very outgoing. Isabel is about 10 months old and a total cutie We think she is an Australian Kelpie small shepherd mix. She is about 35 pounds now. Here is some information from Isabel s foster mom Isabel has warmed her way right into my heart. She tries to be so good and is very smart. She has come a long way in a few weeks. She is crate trained and hasn t messed in the house in a while. She loves to carry things around in her mouth and has figured out my shoes aren t part of that deal. She goes to the toy basket and is very excited to find something in there. She enjoys her rawhides and hasn t chewed up anything that wasn t hers. She still has puppy behavior but she is learning. Every day she gets better. She is playful but enjoys her naps as well. She is a total love bug. She does not particularly like the crate. She will cry for a bit when she is in there but she will continue to get better with this. I think she wants to be with us at night. Isabel wants desperately for my cat to like her and Jinxy puts up with her which I think says a lot. Jinxy realizes she is a sweet heart. She is pretty good on the leash - a bit of a meander-er but doesn t pull. She is very interested in birds butterflies (adorable) and of course squirrels and chipmunks. She is very content sitting on my deck after her long walk. She is a love but she is not a lap dog. I have had a lot of fosters through the years and she is definitely one of the few that has earned a special place in my heart. She will be hard to let go. She needs to be with a family that will give her the exercise she needs. Australian Kelpies are herders and she does try to herd us by leaning into us. Hopefully she will go to a family with another dog and someone who will be home with her. These photos just don t do her justice - she s really very very cute in person and a great size. Isabel is still young so we need her to be adopted by someone that is around a good bit and not gone long hours. She would do best in a home environment with a fenced in yard and someone active.
