You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dory was brought the the Jefferson Parish Westbank shelter at 3 months old luckily her foster mom got her out the same day. She is currently fostered in a home with 2 large dogs a cat and a 3 year old child and she gets along great with all of the above. She is smart wants to be near people and is eager to please. She likes to play with her foster brother and sister and they are teaching her how to be a good dog she is doing very well with potty training and does great in her crate overnight. She hasn t been destructive or chewing things she s not supposed to (but she is never left out unattended). Dory would do well in a house with other pets but more important to her is human attention so as long as she has a loving human she ll be happy. Adoption includes vet check neuter vaccinations and microchip. Current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative. Before applying for a puppy under 6 months old please note that we are looking for homes where someone is home frequently or for those applicants who work 8 hr work days we ask that you have made arrangements for someone to come home at least once during the day to allow the dog to go out for a potty break.Puppies go through multiple teething stages during their first year. Providing your puppy with appropriate toys specially designed for teething puppies can prevent damage to belongings but more importantly prevent your dog from choking or suffering a dangerous intestinal obstruction. During the earlier stages crate him or her when you can t directly supervise him. Local adoptions (New Orleans and surrounding parishes) preferred.
