What can be said about precious little Petey This pretty puppy is chock full of love energy and an infectious zest for life - all of which was almost taken from him in a flash due to the all-too-common shelter mislabeling error. Petey came to us from a newer Animal Care & Control facility where - despite lush amenities and ample room - he still fell victim to the sad pattern that seems to follow the train of the thought that if a dog s breed cannot be accurately deciphered then itmust be a Pit Bull. It s an easier label and certainly cheaper than a DNA Breed Swab Test.Thus sweet Petey was slapped with a marker that caused many to pass him by just on principle and as a result this poor puppy began to stress more and more with each passing day. He couldn t understand why no one seemed to want him.Luckily one of our Staff members saw Petey on the shelter s website and knew there was no way we could let him languish there any longer.Once he was home-free Petey dove into the lap of the nearest person he could find eagerly peering out the window as he zoomed off to his new life at New Leash On Life s beautiful Ranch... he couldn t know that he was on his way to a better home but also that he would never see the inside of a shelter again Petey is a playful energetic puppy with adorable expressions and childlike wonder. He walks well on a leash loves belly rubs and is a real Casanova with the ladies - he will kiss and kiss until he has nothing left We could easily see him living it up at the beach chasing seagulls and frolicking in the warm sand.Although he gets along well with most other dogs Petey seems rather unsure of small toddler age children - possibly due to a past trauma or limited experience. Therefore it is recommended by our Trainers that he be placed in a home with older possibly teenage or young adult age children - if at all.We know that this cute guy will soon find the family of his dreams ready to give him the world and more He has a lot of love to make up for what was taken from him and we can twait to send Petey on his way to a better life ...
