Meet Sasha Sasha is a total sweetheart She s a 44-pound 6-month-old Shepherd mix with a beautiful brindle coat. She s very lean but I expect she ll fill out a bit. Right now she s all legs She has very good manners in the house house trained rarely barks or jumps up. She does enjoy a bit of counter surfing and likes to collect shoes and dirty socks but gives up the shenanigans with a sweet puppy-dog look that says she s very sorry when she s caught. Sasha plays well with my guy who is smaller than her by 10 pounds. They run and wrestle like crazy and take breaks drinking from the same water bowl regularly. She doesn t show any possessiveness with food and water and they seem to trade toys willingly. Very often Sasha will lie down in her crate voluntarily for a little nap. She goes in the crate easily at bedtime or when we have to go out for awhile during the day. Sasha know how to sit for a treat and will usually come when called if you promise a treat. We re working on leash skills everyday. She s getting better and follows my dog pretty willingly but she does still balk sometimes. With Sasha it s more a matter of moving forward - she doesn t pull or drag you down the street.From day one it was clear that Sasha is a love-bug who just wants affection. She is so excited to see us in the morning or when we return from work and school. She loves to give kisses and is very happy to lie down with her head in your lap for snuggles while watching tv.Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for socialize and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time please consider adopting a teen or adult dog.Our standard adoption fee is 295 cash or check and 300 credit card ( 5 processing fee). It includes spay neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets age appropriate core vaccinations fecal testing deworming flea and tick preventative 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets and micro-chipping.We must have an application conduct a phone interview and meet your entire family to approve an adoption.
