We have two male rabbits looking for their forever homes. They are brothers and were born on March 3 2016. Their owner did not realize that their rabbit was pregnant when she was surrendered to our rescue. Now the mother rabbit and the sibling of these two rabbits have found homes but these two boys are still looking for their homes They do not need to go to the same home they can be adopted out separately. These rabbits are now 5 months old. They are mixed breed rabbits. They most closely resemble Siamese type rabbits however Mom-rabbit was a dark brown black rabbit and Dad-rabbit was white so they are in no-way purebred they are mixed breed rabbits. But we still love them and they re still adorable One of the boys has darker markings than the other and their foster home tells us that his markingas are getting darker the older he gets. They are good sized rabbits probably at least 5-7 pounds and they re still young so they may continue to grow. Please note that they are NOT dwarfs and are NOT small rabbits despite the fact that they are 5 months old they are good sized rabbits. We simply want everyone to be aware that these boys are not tiny baby bunnies but they still need love and still need homes to care for them. We did not get to see dad-rabbit though we saw mom and these boys have already surpassed her in size so they may continue to get larger as they mature. But keep in mind that they are good sized already. They are in good health. They eat MannaPro Pro rabbit chow and get fresh greens and veggies which they devour. They are not overweight and we expect that when kept on a healthy diet of quality rabbit feed and veggies greens they will continue to be healthy buns and great pets for the right families. These buns are in a foster home in Munster (next town over) as our rescue is located in Hammond IN where rabbits are illegal to own. Their foster parents tell us that these boys are not overly thrilled about being picked up and handled but do just fine with being petted. We are told they are getting friendlier the older they get which would make sense as they are interacting more with humans. Of course we anticipate that they will be awesome pets with some time and more interaction. They have never bitten anyone. They are friendly and come to the side of the cage to see what you are doing and investigate. These buns are caged together and do just fine together. While they are not completely potty trained their foster home tells us that they tend to use one corner of the cage for pottying so maybe you can help them learn what a litter box is If you are interested in adopting these two boys together keep in mind that you will need quite a spacious cage or an x-pen to do so as these are two good-sized rabbits. These buns are not neutered. Each rabbit will come with some food to start you out with (4 pounds of MannaPro Pro Rabbit Chow) and a printed out version of our rabbit care packet. We also have additional supplies for sale if needed including things like appropriate cages rabbit food chews treats and more. Regardless of past rabbit experience all potential homes will be asked to read our rabbit care packet and fill out our adoption form. If you are unwilling to do this please do not waste our time or yours. No rabbit will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions. These buns are being fostered in Munster Indiana. They will need to be picked up directly from their foster home or alternately we may be able to meet somewhere after all paperwork is completed. Please note if you live in Hammond Indiana you will be unable to adopt as rabbits are illegal to own in Hammond. Please note also that this rabbit is not at our location in Hammond but is being fostered in Munster Indiana.
