Hi I m Elvis a Yellow-Nape Amazon looking for my new family. I m about 16 years old and like many Amazons I can learn to make all kinds of sounds. I love rope toys and enjoy bathing in my water dish. I m quite the looker if I do say so myself. I don t shake my pelvis like The King did but just look at me I mean I am really something I m ok stepping up I get along with other birds - even different species as long as they don t pick on me. I sing to myself mumble secret words and I m much handsome than in my picture. I need a little special care when it comes to my feet. I have a little bit of arthritis in them so the perches I like to sit are usually 1 or 1-1 2 rope - cotton sisal manila hemp - they all work. Wood perches that work best are softer wood that is a big diameter so I don t have to grip so tightly with my toes I even like a 2 x 4 set up horizontally. My favorite is untreated pine. If you get me a corner perch and put it where I can rest on it I ll be very happy. I used to have family but they didn t want me any more. A really nice person from Utah named Ronnie took me in to find me a home. Well she did when some of my feathered friends came from Ronie s to The Gabriel Foundation.
