Ben and Jerry are a nice pair looking for their forever home. These two must go home together. They seem to have never really been handled but are very interested in people. If they will not eat the pellets mix with some seed and make a gradual change. Millet spray makes a great treat. Fresh veggies fruits and water on a daily basis.Habitat Provide a large square cage (never round). Provide various perches of different sizes textures and at different heights. Offer plenty of toys and rotate on a weekly basis. Clean cage weekly- poor sanitation is the leading cause of illness in birdsMouth Teeth Beaks are generally maintained if birds have access to wooden perches. Cockatiels enjoy nibbling on cardboard and newspaper (black and white only )Skin Coat Flight feathers have not been trimmed. Need to be trimmed 6-8 weeks after that by a professional to prevent escape and dangers associated with flying in the home.Nails Nails have not been trimmed. Please trim on a regular basis to prevent painful overgrowth.Additional Comments Birds hide their illness very well so recommend purchasing an avian scale and weigh your bird every month. A weight loss of more than 10% could indicate a serious health problem and emergency care may be required. Be sure to bird proof your home. Cover exposed wires keep windows closed and toilet seats down. Do not use scented candles perfumes or aerosols around your bird never take it to the kitchen while cooking-Teflon fumes can be fatal.
