I m Theodore my foster mama Beth calls me Theo. I m a boxer mix about 7 months old. Before I met Mama Beth I never had a home I had never been in any kind of house before not even a dog house. My life began being born to a mom on the end of a chain. It was very cold when I was born there was no shelter no heat no protection. The man who had us had dug a couple of holes in the ground he used a food bowls so my mom would put me in one of the holes and curl up around me to keep me safe and warm. She sheltered me from the wind rains snow and ice she loved me soooo much. When I got a little older the man also chained me to the tree. It got very hot outside and sometimes we ran out of water and food and our skin burned from the sun but we survived. One day the man just decided to move away and he left us there. A neighbor fed us a few weeks then called animal control from there we went to the animal shelter. I know it sounds strange but it was the best day of our lives. We got to sleep inside we had food and water we even got to play with other dogs for the first time. It was great but we were both still so painfully shy with people though we never got adopted and the shelter had run out of room. Then Miss Trisha from RARE found me and my mom foster parents. Mama Beth that s my foster mama she s the bestest. She loves me and cares for me just like my real mom did. Mama Beth has taught me about love and so many things. I discovered toys and treats. I have two little human boys and furry foster sisters to play with. I ve not had any potty accidents in the house and I even like cats The best part is I have my very OWN soft bed I m still very shy around new people but I m making great progress. Mama Beth tells me every day how smart I am and that I m a good boy. She says baby steps Theo baby steps I m so proud of you. She also tells me one day soon I will have a family of my very own to love me protect me and keep me warm just like she and my birth mom have done. I am so grateful for all the humans who cared they got me here today and I can t wait until the day I have a place to call home.
