You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our sweet Miracle Dog Luigi. He arrived at our shelter on 8 24 16 all the way from McFarland. It says in his paperwork that Luigi was found as a stray however we believe he was actually surrendered by his owners. You see Luigi was likely hit by a car or injured because he is paralyzed from the hips down. We are pretty sure his owners could no longer care for him (or maybe they just didn t want to). Despite being thrown away Luigi is still a very incredible dog. He has beaten the odds and has safely arrived at our shelter. We feel very lucky to have the ability to help Luigi...a dog that any other shelter would simply put down. We believe Luigi deserves more. A chance at a forever home and a happy life is all we want for him. Are you willing to open your heart to a crippled dog in need We are Luigi is about 6 years old and only weighs about 40 pounds. He seems to be a Shepherd mix. He gets around just fine on his own but enjoys going on walks using his awesome wheelchair too Luigi does GREAT with other dogs. He s lived with females males and even puppies He is extremely tolerant and really enjoys the company. Luigi also LOVES people. He is gentle and kind. He approaches you with soulful eyes just asking for love and understanding. Since he is paralyzed he is not jumpy and would do really well with children (and even cats). Luigi could thrive in any kind of home environment. He does not require tons of exercise and does not mind being home alone while you work. Our only requirement is a home without many stairs or with an elevator. If you re interested in fostering or adopting Luigi we can teach you all about his care (which doesn t involve much).
