Trina - Female Cocker Spaniel Mix

Trina is 6-8 months and was rescued from the Maricopa shelter and was severely neglected and there is evidence that she could have been beaten. She was very scared at first and is starting to come out of her shell. She will need a family that can show her they are there to love her and not to hurt her. She gets a little scared when a hand is raised and starts to back away but can easily be showed that you don t mean harm. It may take Trina a few weeks to adjust to a new family so we are needing the adopters to be very patient and loving. We are trying to rotate fosters every week to show her she can trust others. Trina is also a puppy and still has some puppy energy although she is housebroken already. Trina is very scared of the leash and we have not been able to collar and leash her yet but it has only been 2 weeks. She is scheduled to see a trainer and stay with them to work on her fears and overcome the leash. Trina is looking for someone to show her love and be patient as she learns to trust humans. She has been able to get close to her fosters and is very loving and cuddles and gives kisses once she trusts you. Volunteers were able to gain that trust in an hour so it is possible. She is spayed and up to date on all shots and gets along well with other dogs and cats. We prefer that Trina go to a family without young children as sometimes their behavior can be unpredictable and scare her.... More Info
