My name is Precious. I am available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR) a nonprofit dog rescue located in the Denver area. I came to CCR from a shelter in New Mexico. There is very little history on me. CCR has been told I am a Lab Retriever Mix breed and about 2 years old and 43 lbs but that is just a guess made by shelter staff rescue volunteers and our veterinarians. I LOVE to run and play with other dogs but I will need time to learn my manners around a new dog. I also love people and kids however I m still learning not to be so excited when seeing them. I must have a decent sized yard to run around in and I LOVE to explore A walk every day is something I need that will help keep boredom away 30 minutes should be fine I am highly inquisitive and love to chase Squirrels and I will jump a fence to get those little buggers so I really need to be in a home with a 6 high fence. I haven t been around cats yet but given how I like to chase squirrels this might not be the best environment for me.I am crate trained but I don t love it. I will go into it if I am told to. I am still working on house training. I will potty outside if you take me out every couple of hours but I m still learning not to go in the house if I m left alone all day.I come when called by name and I do know that my name is Precious . I am intelligent and I take calm instruction well IF I am focused (no other Dogs or playmates around). If other Dogs are around I am not as focused so the commands sit stay lay down won t be answered to as quickly. I am intelligent and can learn quickly if you work with me one on one w00f What is my ideal family I like everyone Someone into bike riding is fine a family with gentle kids is great also Someone who will give me tug of war ropes or rings to chew on in my dog bed If you have another dog I can play with that is great too w00f I love to run and play rough and tumble outside and I love plushy toys squeaky toys chew rings are my BEST friend I bet I would love hiking w00f I am not the kind of Dog to be left alone all day long day after day. 8 hours a day is fine but 10 hours is too much and I will get lonely which can cause bad behavior.
