She had been in a crate outside barely big enough for her to stand up in her whole life. She was infested with fleas and pretty much left unsocialized. The shelter had been called out numerous times and this time when they made contact luckily the family allowed them to take her.. The amazing staff at the Lovington shelter spent a lot of time with her loving her giving her flea baths and combing them out. She is very small for a Boxer but the vet seems hopeful that she will grow a little more ow that she is out of the crate. We will see otherwise she is kind of like a pocket Boxer.Temperament- Very sweet gentle quiet (but she snorts quite a bit -haha) and just extremely loving..Energy Level- Very high energy.. she is making up for being confined her whole life in a too small crate.. She is jumping and running and just enjoying life out on the property where she can stretch out. She doesn t know what to do with toys yet but we are hoping in time she will learn to play with them by watching her pack members. Dogs Cats- She has joined our pack and is doing wonderful though she is a little too forward still on introductions and isn t quite sure what back off means when the other dogs try and correct her.. She is learning though. She met one of the cats yesterday and wasn t sure what to make of it. She had the funny wrinkled brow typical of Boxers when they get confused. Housetrained- House and crate trainedNina is a darling sweet high energy dog who just needs a home filled with love and fun.. Overall she is very well behaved- just a little weary of strangers at first. But for all she has been put through in her short life she is still extremely happy and loving. It s amazing how forgiving dogs are. She has not had any accidents in the house hasn t chewed anything up and just overall a wonderful little girl. She does need to spend more time loose in the house as right now she gets super excited and bounces across my couch like a 2 year old but she will learn-- she s just probably never seen anything so bouncy and is seeing the small dogs on the back of it and the cats so figures t s ok.. LOL..
