Lulu - Female Hound (Unknown Type)Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Lulu is a sweet 3 year old hound pit bull terrier mix that PACC (the local pound ) confiscated in a cruelty case. She suffered a back injury some time ago that was left untreated and which ended up becoming so bad that it left her partially paralyzed. Since PACC seized her she s had surgery to repair a ruptured disc mid-spine and has been receiving physical therapy. Her rehab is progressing well but it will be a couple more months before we know just how much damage the surgery was able to reverse. She s getting around and walks a lot better than she used to and with luck she will also regain control of her bladder and bowels but there is the possibility that she ll always have some issues with that. Lulu can be a little shy with new people but really enjoys being pet and snuggling chewing bully sticks hanging out with her person napping and playing with toys. She weighs around 45 lbs is crate trained knows how to use the dog door and we re working on the potty training by frequently getting her outside where she will usually pee and sometimes defecate by herself and by expressing her bladder and bowels when she doesn t. She isn t a big talker but does have a cute woo woo when she s excited for her dinner and she sometimes barks when excited about something or if a particular dog is on the other side of the fence. Lulu currently lives with several other dogs of all sizes (10 lbs to 75 lbs) and gets along with them well. Cats and lizards on the other hand not so much. She has a high prey drive and shouldn t live in a home with other small animals that would be at risk. Lulu s current foster mom is getting ready to move into a much smaller space so we re looking for a new foster home for Lulu or better yet a forever home.
