Meet Panda the cutest cat in the world He is a two-year-old guy that will need his new family to give him a little confidence boost. He can be a little shy and nervous of new things. But once he opens up he can be a laid back fellow with a curious side. Panda tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (or FIV). With good nutrition and routine wellness care a healthy cat that is FIV positive can live a long happy life. FIV is a slow acting virus that affects the immune system over time. About 3% of all cats are FIV positive. The virus is contagious to other cats but is NOT contagious to people or other animal species. Sometimes called the & quot fighting disease& quot FIV is mainly spread through serious bites that are not common among spay neutered cats living in a stable home. A cat with FIV contracted the disease before coming to HSHV likely after being lost or abandoned outside or from their mother during birth. Many cats live into their teens before there is any indication of an immune system compromise. We believe FIV positive cats can make loving companions and deserve a chance at a happy life....
