At approximately 5 week old Farnie began to exhibit signs of low blood sugar. We made the decision to pull her from her mother and place her in a foster home (with Vicki one of our board members and volunteers)... where she has been ever since. Vicki spent many late nights up with her monitoring her blood sugar levels. We are confident Farnie is with us today because of Vicki s hard work. As a result we will be VERY picky on her new home. We are looking for a home for her where the owner is home more often than not. A home that is calm and non-stressful. She needs a home with an adopter who will make her the focus of their life and treat her as if she were a newborn because in a sense... she has the needs of a newborn. Her blood sugar levels have stabilized but she still needs monitoring. Adopter should have the means time and patience... because she is a special little girl to us and we want her to have the best of the best If you think that is you we welcome your application. SPAY NEUTER REBATE PROGRAM Due to the age of this pet he she may not be spayed neutered at the time of adoption. If this is the case you will receive a 50 rebate coupon which will entitle you to a rebate of 50 once your pet is spayed neutered and valid ONLY IF DONE ON OR BEFORE 6 MONTHS OF AGE It is REQUIRED and part of our adoption contract that all unaltered pets be spayed neutered no later than 6 months of age. IMPORTANT NOTES All of our adoptable dogs are small and they are never to be left outside alone ever We only rehome our dogs to adopters that plan to have them as inside dogs and part of the family We do allow adopters with doggie doors provided there is SECURE fencing. There is no exception to this rule NO SMALL CHILDREN As with almost all the dogs at NR2R young children or a very active household is not recommended. Many of our dogs come to us BECAUSE of small children thus we do not rehome our dogs to homes with babies or young children. Even if the children are older it would depend on the child AND the parent or parents. We do not guarantee that any of our adoptable dogs are housetrained. While most should be easily trained keep in mind that they live in a rescue where they have access to the outdoors all day and are inside at night. Even if they were surrendered to us as housetrained it doesn t mean they will automatically be housetrained in your home. Housetraining them should be easy in the right home with time patience and consistency. Only adopters with a responsible dog ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply. If you bring this pet into your heart and home you will receive in return many years of love companionship and loyalty. That s our guarantee.
