Blanca Blanca is a FAVORITE and basically has her own fan club amongst DOH supporters. This 11 month old baby was born in a family of dog breeders who severely neglected her.DOH found Blanca when she was just 3 months old and we have all just fallen in love with her. Blanca is deaf- we re not sure if she born like this or if it was a result of her traumatic past. Either way- being deaf only enhances how awesome Blanca is. Blanca s foster mom who had no prior experience with deaf dogs has listed why Blanca being deaf is totally awesome. 1. Fireworks do not scare this girl...nor do thunder storms... she just plots around look at the other dogs like What the heck is wrong with you 2. She sleeps like the dead Once Blanca goes in her crate- there is nothing in the world that can disturb this girl. She LOVES to be cozy in her crate. She ll go to bed at 10pm and not wake up until 10am. She s basically like a human teenager. 3. You can say whatever you want to this girl- and she won t judge. Well this is true for most dogs but Blanca will sit with you when you cry she ll love on you when your stressed. She picks up on your body language better than any other dog. She ll know you better than you know yourself. 4. Teaching Blanca manners... seriously not as hard as you think. This girl WATCHES you. She makes eye contact. She knows when you say No based on your body language. She knows Go in your crate .... she knows so many normal things that other dogs know and she bases it all of your body language. You don t even have to do anything different than you normally do. The body language you perform when you say No is already habit for you. Blanca just needs a few days to learn your specific style. 5. You know when people knock on the door and your dogs go crazy barking Pshh Blanca doesn t even care She does know when someone has bad intentions though.... again...body language is very important to Blanca. Blanca is such a fan favorite that she has received consistent training from not one but two personal trainers She is currently in a foster home with a 1 year old- she s very conscious to make sure she doesn t knock him down. She knows which toys are his and which are hers.... She gets along with other dogs. She LOVES the dog park. She s good with cats too. They re not her favorite but she tolerates them. Blanca is a true gem. Please do not let her being deaf turn you away. We require all those interested in our dogs and puppies to fill out an adoption application complete with personal and veterinary references. Once an application has been approved DOH schedules a homecheck with the potential adopter.Our adoption fee is 200 - that includes- all age appropriate vaccinations sterilization and microchip. All our dogs are heartwormed and fecal tested and vetted to the fullest before they are adopted out. We take pride in the health of our former street dogs.
