Dixie is a very special girl. She is about 6 years young now and boy can she play Her favorite toys are sticks and tug toys. Dixie was on her last call from the Treasure Coast and I took her in to my rescue on her last day. She was heartworm positive and has been treated and ready now for her forever home. Dixie has a unique personality. She loves male dogs that are smaller than her. She is a dominant female and sounds really rough when she s playing. I have never had a problem with her playing with me but she is very vocal. Growls a lot when playing tug and with sticks. She has been very gentle mouthed. I was playing with a destuffed toy she gave me and when she grabbed it my hand was inside it. She never hurt me. Dixie does however nip other dogs when she thinks they need to mind her. She got her ear bit a couple of times in retaliation. I think she would be wonderful as an only dog but would be happy with a smaller non dominant male too. When it rains she loves to sit on the porch with me and cuddle up on the couch. She loves to be petted and adores car rides. She gets so excited when she knows she s going out. I can t stress enough how much i love Dixie. She just needs an adopter that understands her and is willing to learn her mannerisms. She loves to sleep at the foot of the bed at night. When I go to work she picked the laundry room as her space so she has a dog bed in there.... More Info
