Meet June...she is a one year old spayed German Shepard who we got into the our rescue after looking high and low for her owners. When she was found the people brought her to our vet clinic because they thought for sure she would be microchipped. After all she had an external fixator on her leg to repair a break. The finders felt like someone probably bought her and then spent a great deal of money on her surgery so they would have to be looking for her. Unfortunately she wasn t chipped no one was looking for her and the fixator didn t have any identification to track down the manufacturing company to try to find out where the device was sold to. Weeks passed and we got a message on fb from someone who recognized her from several weeks earlier when she had been at her house for two weeks. I tracked down the people who eventually came by and picked her up from their home. After talking to them about the cost of removing the device and cost of spay vaccines and boarding they surrendered her to our rescue. They said they had bought her for 200 from a truck driver off of Craig s list and he got June and another dog who was said to be her litter mate. Once in our rescue we had her spayed rabies bordatella parvo distemper vaccinations. She is HW negative and on prevention for HW and flea ticks. She finally is in a foster home and doing well. She is very smart hungry for attention loved other dogs and seems to do well with cats crate trained and doing well with house training. The leg will have a scar and most likely a lump where the bone calcified over and over the fixator through the bone. She will benefit from regular exercise and possibly PT although exercise alone and her knowing her own self limitations is probably all that is anticipated for her future. She is a goofy fun loving and will be a great addition to anyone s family.
