I am micro-chipped heart-worm Negative have all my vaccinations been spayed and received a major dental. I will be evaluated for 2 weeks by my foster family who have gone through SRC s approval process although they are going to see almost immediately how sweet and intelligent I really am My foster parent is currently in Asheville NC (SRC 1817) BLACKIE s Story BLACKIE with this unique identification number (SRC 1817) just came into our custody and care. Now vetted this dog will be prepared for adoption by a foster family who has gone thru our approval process. She is between 5 and 6 years old and weighs 13 pounds. The Shih Tzus who came in with this recent group of rescues amazed me as the Director of this Rescue with their passive demeanors. I was fortunate enough to handle each one by picking them up bathing them all and getting them to the vet for their medical care. All of this breed were so passive and sweet -- they just let you do anything to them with no aggression whatsoever almost as if they had given up completely. Once they were vetted I found out more about why they seemed so very docile. Blackie is food driven which tells me she has had to fight for her meals. While she was with me I fed her white meat chicken and quickly she came to believe that the sun rose and set wherever I was and she followed me everywhere. I loved it I came to really love HER How forgiving can these precious ones be She had Grade 4 Dental disease and real food gave her diarrhea (cleared up with meds). She had an ear issue from allergy and also had to be spayed although she has just given birth. She loves having her ears scratched and is already housebroken just from being praised for going out when she potties . I heard her bark only once and that little tails goes constantly even when she is in pain. She was hurting terribly one night right after her dental and spay so about 2am so I got up with her and took her out to potty then rocked her until the pain meds took hold again. Then she slept very nicely in her bed until 7am the next morning. I was so proud of that little angel who has already suffered so much. She has really earned her honorary Schnauzer status. Thankfully Blackie (1817) was fortunate enough to be be rescued by SRC and at her age she can live a long healthy life now and a happy one This dear girl deserves that and much more When ready for adoption this dog will be heart-worm tested (negative) vaccinations brought up to date spayed neutered if not done already micro-chipped examined fully by a vet and any necessary medical issues found by this vet will have been addressed. It is anticipated that this dog will be released for adoption by the same date as the completion of the Evaluation. The date of release is left to the discretion of the SRC Core Team.
